Tips & Tricks
1. Socialise, don’t hide away in your room- make some friends, have some fun.
2. Attend the non-drinking events in fresher’s week- loads of freebies.
3. Don’t shop hungry- It’s a rookie move, it’s a tough enough job to finance let alone messing it all up because your eyes are bigger than your stomach.
4. Do your washing up- No one likes it, but it’s even worse when spending hours scraping SpagBol out of a dish.
5. Sign up to a society, try a few- An easy way to make friends outside of your dorm and course.
6. Get your work done- it is an unnecessary stress and can cause a lower grade because of the rush to finish.
7. Back your work up- The most frustrating thing for any student, losing work. Free online storage spaces are the way forward- sky drive.
8. Set loads of alarms- ultimately you’re at university to study, you can make that 9am, we believe in you.
9. Sign up to the university/local GP- living on your own is daunting enough, you don’t want to get ill and not have anywhere to go when needing medical advice.
10. Budget if you can- We’re not saying spend hours worrying over the £5 a day you’ve got to spend. But just make sure you don’t rack up a ridiculous overdraft.
